Collection

Our collaboration with artist and owner of Artxtiles, Sarah Sczepanski, does a magnificent job of encapsulating the earth's natural beauty in a bona fide manner, by transposing textures from plants and various humanistic elements onto print.Sczepanski derives her inspiration from subjects in nature that typically are overlooked, despite their intricate detail and vast complexity; a spider's web, for example.

Sczepanski's original, mono-type artwork is transformed into a Nepalese weave masterpiece by implementing varying pile heights and seamlessly blending wool and silk together. Each piece is masterfully woven and finished in India.

Sarah is an artist and designer based in New York City. Her line of beautiful, modern textiles for the home are created from original works of art called monotypes. Sarah is drawn to the monotype printing process because it always includes an element of surprise and incorporates natural and found elements resulting in one-of-a kind prints.

Her inspiration stems from reflections and emotions of things she sees in her everyday life in NYC, memories of her travels and her childhood growing up near the ocean in Massachusetts. Through art, she incorporates her keen sense of color, design and the Yin and Yang of calm and bustling energy creating both classical and modern designs. She likes adding impressions of objects made by man and natural elements resulting in one-of-a kind prints.

Stepping into this collection, you’ll find yourself immersed in an array of nature's finest works of art. Look to Nantucket for an invigorating breath of fresh air, as if you’re landing in a new city across the world, and you see its coastline riddled with boats from the sky. Tissue will transport your mind to the abyss that is the deep Atlantic; jet black and forest green playfully intertwine themselves to create a twisting and twirling array of patterns. Crystalize will descend you into cavernous crystal caves. Looking up, you’ll find yourself small in comparison to the large, ancient crystals hanging above you, that have been around for hundreds of years.
